Earlier this month we launched our first diversity scholarship for the Leeds City Region to help eligible individuals across Bradford, Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby, Wakefield and York access our industry-leading tech training and launch careers in software development.

What is the Leeds City Region Diversity Scholarship?
As part of our wider Developing Diversity initiative, we're offering two fully-funded Northcoders scholarships to people who belong to groups that are underrepresented in tech.
The Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) supports inclusive growth, which means allowing everyone in the Leeds City Region to be able to contribute to, and enjoy the benefits of, a strong economy and a decent standard of living. We are proud to provide this scholarship as part of our commitment to supporting this vision for the region.
Am I eligible to apply for the Leeds City Region Diversity Scholarship?
To be eligible for this initiative, you must:
- Be living with a disability, identify as BAME, belong to a gender minority (intersex, transgender or non-binary) or identify as LGBTQ+.
- Live in the Leeds City Region, which includes Bradford, Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby, Wakefield and York. We will ask you to provide proof of your address.
- Explain in your application form why you would otherwise not be able to afford the course.
- Demonstrate your commitment to learning to code and finding work as a software developer in the Leeds City Region.
When is the deadline to apply for the Leeds City Region Diversity Scholarship?
The deadline to submit your application for the Leeds City Region Diversity Scholarship is Friday 12th July 2019.
If your application is successful you will be invited to take part in the next stage of the application process – preparing for the Northcoders Entry Challenge. The deadline for sitting the Entry Challenge is Friday 7th August 2019.
